This week I took a spur-of-the-moment trip to Montreal, Canada, and absolutely loved it! I had never been to Canada before, and I think Montreal was a great place to visit for my first time there. I saw some amazing places, such as the BioDome, Botanical Gardens, and the Notre Dame Cathedral, which was breathtaking! I took a river cruise and saw the huge roller coasters at La Ronde which looked like fun! There was so much going on in the city that made the trip that much more enjoyable.
There was a huge comedy/food truck/game festival being held by Videotron that spanned several streets. Comics like Kathy Griffin, Bo Burnham, and Dave Chappelle, were performing throughout the week. The festival really came alive at night when free food and drink samples were distributed, bands played, light shows amazed, and games (like board games) were set up for the public to play. The new X-Men movie was even being filmed in the area! So, if you are thinking of taking a quick vacation with the kids somewhere before school starts back up, I would definitely recommend Montreal. It’s an easy 6-ish hour drive from Boston and there’s so much to see and do. I can’t wait to go back!
